DainikPe is a UPI payment announcement app built for Indian merchants. When a customer pays you via GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or any UPI app, DainikPe reads that payment notification and announces the amount aloud — so you never miss a payment even in a busy shop.
To do this job, the app needs certain permissions on your Android phone. This policy explains exactly which permissions we use, what data we collect from them, and what we do with that data. We have written this in plain language because we believe you deserve to know exactly what is happening on your device.
DainikPe is developed and operated by Dainik1, based in India. The app is published on Google Play Store under the package name com.dainik1.dainikpe and the website is business.dainik1.com.

Below is every Android permission declared in our app, what it does, and why we need it. We do not request any permission that is not directly required for the app to function.

| BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE | This is the core permission of DainikPe. It lets the app read notifications from other apps — specifically payment notifications from GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, and your bank apps. Without this, the app cannot detect incoming UPI payments. We only process notifications from known payment apps. We never read WhatsApp, SMS, email, or any social media notifications. |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Required on Android 13+ to show the foreground service notification that keeps DainikPe running in the background. This notification tells you the service is active and listening for payments. |
| FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC | DainikPe must stay running even when you switch to another app or lock your phone. Android requires apps to declare a foreground service for this. This is what keeps payment announcements working 24/7. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | When you restart your phone, DainikPe automatically starts itself so you don't have to manually open the app every time. This ensures you never miss a payment after a reboot. |
| WAKE_LOCK | Prevents the phone's CPU from sleeping while a payment announcement is being spoken aloud. Without this, the TTS voice could cut off mid-sentence on some devices. |
| REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS | Android's battery saver can kill background apps. We ask you to exempt DainikPe from battery optimization so the payment listener is not stopped by the system. This is optional — you can deny it, but the app may miss payments on aggressive battery-saving phones. |
| CAMERA | Used only for the QR code scanner feature. When you tap "Scan QR" to add a UPI ID, the camera opens. We do not record video or take photos in the background. |
| RECORD_AUDIO | Used for the AI voice assistant feature — you can speak a question and the assistant responds. Audio is processed locally and is not recorded or stored. |
| BLUETOOTH_SCAN & BLUETOOTH_CONNECT | Used to pair DainikPe with Bluetooth soundbox devices. If you use a dedicated Bluetooth speaker for payment announcements, these permissions allow the app to find and connect to it. |
| READ_PHONE_STATE | Used to detect incoming calls so the app can pause payment announcements during a phone call and resume after the call ends. |
| SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM | Used to schedule the service restart watchdog — a timer that checks if the notification listener is still running and restarts it if it was killed by the system. |
Important: The Notification Listener permission is a sensitive permission. Android will show you a special settings screen to grant it. We only use it to read payment-related notifications. The raw notification text is parsed on your device — only the extracted payment amount, payer name, and UTR number are sent to our servers. The full notification text is never uploaded.
We collect only what is necessary to run the service. Here is a complete list:
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, call logs, or any data unrelated to payment detection and business reporting.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build user profiles for marketing. We do not sell your data to anyone.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or data brokers.
Your data is stored on servers located in India. We use HTTPS for all communication between the app and our servers. Passwords are never stored — we use OTP-based login only. Session tokens are short-lived and stored securely on your device using encrypted local storage.
Transaction data is retained for as long as your account is active, and for up to 2 years after account deletion for legal compliance purposes. After that period, it is permanently deleted.
The Counter Assistant feature lets you share payment announcements with a staff member's phone. That device receives payment alerts via Firebase push notifications — only the payment amount and payer name. It does not have access to your full transaction history or account settings.
The TV Display feature shows payment amounts on a TV in your shop via a session-specific URL. No personal account data is shown on the TV — only the payment amount and a confirmation message.
DainikPe is a business tool intended for adult merchants. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor is using the app, contact us and we will delete the account.
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
